Variety is reporting that Sam Worthington is in talks to star along side Charlize Theron in “The Tourist”. The film is a Spyglass remake of the 2005 French thriller "Anthony Zimmer".
The Hollywood Reporter is saying that Worthington has signed on for the project.
Tom Cruise was considering the project and has reportedly now dropped out. From the sounds of it, he turned the film down because he has accepted a role in the action comedy with Cameron Diaz, which was once titled “Witchita”.
They are saying that Tom’s consideration of the film stalled production, which they wanted to begin on last March. Sources are now saying it is back on track with Sam Worthington, who just starred in “Terminator Salvation”.
Production is said to begin in early 2010.
