Tom Cruise may have missed the Oscars but he made sure to honor the Irish recently. Tom attended the 5th Annual ‘Oscar Wilde Honoring The Irish In Film’ event on March 4th in Los Angeles. Actually Tom didn’t just attended, he as well as two other men(Tim Roth, Brian O’Byrne) were presenters.

You can just see that these two get along, look at the way they chat with one another. I’m sure this was an honor to Tom because he got to present the award to J.J. Abrams.  Many have been asking why JJ Abrams was getting the award but even Abrams didn’t know.   It was recently announced that Tom Cruise would be working on yet another J.J.Abrams movie, “Mission Impossible 4.

According to the Washington Post Tom Cruise said, “What better way to spend an evening than with a bunch of Irishmen.”  Tom has loved the Irish people ever since he first worked with them for Far and Away.  The good news is Trina Vargo, the president of U.S.-Ireleand Alliance and explained why Abrams was getting the award.

“Someone once said, ‘There are two groups of people, the Irish, and those who lack imagination.’ So in our book, that makes J.J. Abrams more than Irish,” she said. “Since J.J. graciously agreed to become an honorary Irishman, he has since visited Ireland with his family and he has optioned the rights to Colum McCann’s book ‘Let the Great World Spin.’ So we’ve adopted him!”

I think the best part was whenTom Cruise actually arrived at the event on his Ducati and was seen wearing blue jeans, a nice dark shirt (two buttons at the top) and his Ducati jacket. But he wasn’t the only one wearing this casual look, many others did as well.
