Is Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes making Suri grow up too fast? In the past few months we’ve seen this tiny tot sporting high heels, fancy dresses, carrying around $800 handbags and finally bright red lipstick. I know if this little girl was walking on a stage for the Little Miss Whatever fingers would be pointed at her mommy.
Katie has laughed off reports that she shouldn’t allow Suri to wear high heels by stating:
“Like every little girl, she loves my high heels. They are actually ballroom dancing shoes for kids. I found them for her and she loves them.”
While I believed this at first, I’ve noticed recently she was wearing extremely high heels for her age. This past week Suri was spotted, after an afternoon with mom eating at the Bowery Hotel and shopping, to be sporting a bright pink lipstick. Some were saying it looked bright red, either way, should a 3 year old be wearing something this bright?
Tom Cruise told E!Online he was actually proud of his daughter’s fashion sense:
“I love it. I think that’s great. How can you not love her? She’s wonderful. I really appreciate that. She’s a joy.”
Many let their children play dress up, but they normally do this inside their home. They don’t normally parade around downtown in New York to show the entire world. While we all know Suri is an absolute doll, I worry she may be growing up way too fast in the Hollywood spotlight. Dressing up in the fancy dresses is fine, even though it looks cold, but to wear bright lipstick and high heels one can only wonder what her teen years will look like.

She may just really be into being a girly girl. If she was my child and wanted to dress up in a super hero costume and go out in public, I’d let her do that, so I’d probably let her dress up. But I’d make her wipe off the lipstick before she went out just because I wouldn’t want pictures like that in the tabloids for child molesters to see. Now, the heels are something I don’t believe in because I imagine it could lead to foot problems when she’s older. Good children’s shoes are designed to provide adequate support as their feet grow.

She is just gorgeous. I love dressing up my girls. Nothing wrong with it!
