Does it not seem like we have been talking about Tom Cruise’s movie “Valkyrie” for, like, ever? As any of you regular Tom Cruise and Katie HolmesCrazy readers know, this movie has been surrounded by controversy from the start.
First, they had the issue with getting Germany’s okay to even film the movie there. Then there were filming problems. Then the release date kept changing and changing and changing. Last, but not least, some extras on the set were injured and filed a lawsuit. Did I leave anything out? Whew! Making movies sounds FUN.
The movie finally has a solid release date of December 26, 2008 (although I wouldn’t place any bets just yet!) and MGM has released another trailer (the one above).
You can read the movie description below. What do you think of this trailer? Does it make you want to see it?
‘Valkyrie’ - starring Tom Cruise, Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy, Tom Wilkinson, and Carice van Houten.
In a country in the grips of evil, in a police state where every move is being watched, in a world where justice and honor have been subverted, a group of men hidden inside the highest reaches of power decide to take action. Based on the true story of Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg and the daring and ingenious plot to eliminate one of the most evil tyrants the world has ever known.
This sounds like such a heavy movie for the day after Christmas. It will be very very interesting to see how this film does.
